Not only is this beautiful to look at but it feels like a piece of precision machinery in your hand. Great weighting! Seems like you use it all day without making your hand tired.

Best knife I’ve ever had!
I own a few different knives but this one just seem to cover all my needs at work.
Sharp from the box and even after 24 artichokes. 20 carrots, a dozen potatoes and a bunch more items, the blade has remained extremely sharp!
It’s comfortable, light and very good looking.
I plan on buying the whole line of knives!!

It’s a gift and won’t be used until May. Opened it and it looks great!

I have become quite accustomed to my old chef's knife, but this Kawashima knife is so well balanced and extremely sharp that it is displacing my old knife chef's knife. If there is any problem with the knife, it is so beautiful that I don't want to damage it. Looking past it's beauty and functionality, I find the edge holding property and stain resistance to be so much easier to maintain than my carbon steel knives.

New knife is a quiver killer. Replaces all the knives on the right in many circumstances. Love the versatility!

This is my favorite knife! It cuts everything so easily! So smooth, it has a nice comfortable handle, I no longer hurt my arm or my back when I chop or slice things. It's the best!
This here is their Kawashima 8 inch chef's knife. I have a few different ones, however I find myself using this one the most! It's honestly the best investment I have ever made!

I can see and feel the quality in the Messermeister knives especially this Kawashima 8 inch Chef’s knife. It came super sharp and has maintained its sharpness through various bouts of cutting through meat and making Mirepoix. I enjoyed slicing through this delicious seared Ahi Tuna with ease. Thank you Messermeister

Plus the knife just looks great. Fit and finish great, no sharp edges. Pinch grip perfect for me. Overall great knife.

The blade is fantastic and cuts everything I toss at it with ease!, the handle is sturdy and solid no movement anywhere that it wasn't meant to, the product is insanely sharp out of the box and crisp look that turned heads of my kitchen staff....Downside is one of my staff members attempted to sharpen it on a whetstone and scratched it....really bad I got to figure out how to restore it it's not even a month old but it's still functional and I'm happy with my purchase, it's professional look and performance. 10/10 would and am HIGHLY recommending! IM A EXECUTIVE CHEF You need these knives!!! **Just please note Messermeister will sharpen her for you so you don't damage the knife if your a beginner**

Seriously one of the better knives I’ve owned! First attracted by looks and then fell in love with the balance, tang and edge on this beauty! I’m half way through the whole #kawashima collection! Highly suggest

Amazing knife, top notch company. Always wanted one after reading that Martin Yan used messermeister knives. Really really awesome.

Full disclosure I am a bit of a knife nut. First the pros. My Knife arrived sharp. Ten strops on some hard leather impregnated with 2.5 micron Diamond dust let the edge beyond sharp. I love the super hard fine grained SG2 core steel. the Edge bevel is very thing but thick enough it can survive touching a bone by accident with out getting a chip. This is nice for a western cook lacking perfect knife discipline. Over all the blade geometry is very nice and this thing cuts like a laser. The fit and finish is very nice and you can tell there was at least a little hand work involved in the knifes production. I like the handle and handle angle. Lends itself to push cutting, but still has enough blade belly for some rocking cuts as long as your mindful about digging the tip into your cutting board. . As this of 2/8/2021 this knife was on sale and is competitive with other knives of similar construction and finish level. Glad I bought it. GREAT warranty here that you may not get elsewhere. So this is the place to buy this knife if you can.
Cons So this is a super minor knit pick. MSRP for this knife is high, but I got it on sale so I can't gripe. Over all the blade polish could have been taken to a higher more refined polish considering the price point. I would love to own this knife with a prettier linen micarta handle. Pakkawood handles while very functional do not thrill me.
Would buy again and would recomend.

A great knife for both home cooks and professional use.
Comfortable handle with a razor sharp blade that allows you to prep faster.
