Protect Our Winters turns passionate outdoor people into effective climate advocates. POW leads a community of athletes, thought pioneers and forward-thinking business leaders to affect systemic political solutions to climate change.

Their policy agenda consists of a four-pronged approach to climate solutions including clean energy, clean transportation, carbon pricing and protecting public lands from fossil fuel extraction. They chose to focus on these four areas because of their broad reaching impact to climate, their possibility for success in policy and their ability to be enacted on the individual and collective scale.

RETIRED SKIS

Moment Skis exists today because twenty years ago, nobody was listening.

The industry was oblivious to the community, and when they couldn't buy the skis they wanted - to ski the way they wanted to ski - they decided to build the damn things ourselves.

They did so carefully, with the best, highest-quality materials they could find, because breaking a pair meant days of work to replace and more time off the snow.

They did it by hand because there was no other way.

handles

During COVID isolation in 2020, Matt Shulda from @360bladeflip started redoing his cheap knives to make them cool using skateboards he broke. Friends and family started asking if they could buy one so he started hunting down knives from thrift stores to refurbish.

Matt formed @360Blade Flip to not only make use of these broken boards that often just collect dust or get thrown out, but to bring discarded knives back to life as well. It lets people own something that is cool and unique while also helping reduce waste. It’s for skaters, chefs, and people who just love color!
