5" is perfect fit for me. Don't know why I didn't get one sooner. I've had 7" but it is a little too big for my hand. Happy chopping to me.

Unbelievably sharp and beautiful.

Beautiful kitchen knife. SHARP!

Great knife, the 5 inch blade is a good size for smaller vegetable chopping.

I bought this because my wife and I cut vegetables at every meal. She is a little intimidated by a large chef's knife and I hoped this would be a nice alternative. It has proven to be much more than that, the weight and feel of this knife are absolutely perfect. It's small enough to not feel large, but large enough to not feel small. A light touch with the hone will keep it razor sharp, no issues cutting skinned veg, such as tomatoes. Love this knife, can't say enough good things about it.

I was given this knife and was reluctant to even try it. I am a huge fan of Sabatier carbon steel knives and have used them exclusively for over 25 years. This 7” Messerneister Santoku knife changed that. This knife has fantastic balance. It is comfortable to use and I can cut for hours without fatigue. I do like the nogent style handle without rivets. This is a beautiful knife to handle and use. Well worth the price.

Cuts like anything and everything like butter but what I love most is the grip, just fits perfectly. Best knife I ever bought.

I have one for myself and I bought this one for my girlfriend, an aspiring cook. This is one of a set that I own and each one is beautifully designed, razor sharp and durable. I wish there were more stars to give it / them because they are indeed awesome.

Becoming my favorite knife for chopping single/smaller piece veggies like green onions, carrots etc. Comfortable handle with a balanced and sharp blade.

I scrutinize and examine products to the extreme. Very critical of anything that is off balance or not perfect. I have a good collection of fine knives. These are the finest German knives I used. If not for the Japanese Global, I would have said the very best. Global is lighter , smooth like butter , a piece of art. Messermeister Meridian Elite is a bit heavier. Just a bit. It's a great example of exceptional German Craftsmanship. The delivery was super fast and the package was superb. Well, the box was so well put together and big that I thought I ordered a Blender. Seller obviously values quality of delivery. Do yourself a favor get a Messermeister and never look back. Who knows how long these will be made in Germany. Soon we will start importing cars from China. Talk about quality. Amazon customer service. Thank you.

Great knife I recommend the guard as well.

Got this for may father-in-law for a Christmas gift. The entire family loves it. A major upgrade from his old Henkel. This is truly a professional chef quality knife, nicely balanced and very sharp. Very well made.

This is the best knife I've ever owned. I had one previously and left it behind in a cross country move. I've missed it. I'm had top notch knives before, but this is by far the best, stay sharp knife I will ever purchase. Whatever you pay for it, it's worth every penny.I'm a sucker for a good santoku, so I've also purchased their "mini" knives to replace my German W brand name knives. That German W brand is great, but this is far better.

This is our 2nd Meridian Elite Kullenschliff. Her Messermeister's are my wife's favorite knives and quickly replaced several custom knives. I highly recommend this knife.

I have this style from Wusthoff, with a Granton edge. But I wanted a more comfortable handle because I use such a knife for slicing and trimming rock-hard Kabocha Squash. I do not hack into the squash with this knife. For that I use an enormous chef's knife and a maul. After removing the seeds I slice the squash in sections and next use this fine knife to remove the skin & cut into chunks. I would like a fatter handle, but the handle provided is comfortable. I already had a 6" Messermeister Meridian Elite Santoku with the Granton edge, I cannot say enough about it. It holds an edge as well as any quality knife or better. Lastly, the company provides friendly assistance over the telephone.

This is one of those TOP O' THE LINE knife manufacturers that are relatively unknown to the public but used by professionals all over the world. I have used Messermeister knives in the past and they ARE among the best blades in the world and they are used in the some of the top culinary schools as well. Give it a try and then spread the word. This "recluse" deserves a 5 mojo*z rating!!!
